About the International Horse Genome Workshop

The aim of this workshop is i) to create shared resources empowering equine research, including functional genomic annotation, creation of reference genomes and pangenomes and, ii) to share research results in equine genetics and genomics from research laboratories from all over the world (America, Europe, Asia, Middle Est, Africa).

The workshop has been launched for the first time in 1995 and has been organized every two years alternatively in USA and in European countries : Lexington (KY, USA), San Diego (CA, USA), Uppsala (SE), Brisbane (AU), Pretoria, (SA), Dublin (IR), Lake Tahoe (CA, USA), Cambridge (UK), Minneapolis (MN, USA), Azores (PO), Hanover (GE), Pavia (IT), Ithaca (NY, USA) and in France for the first time at Caen, Normandy in 2024.

IMPORTANT LAST-MINUTE TRAVELING NEWS

Due to work on the RER B at Roissy CDG, the line will be interupted during the night from 22h45 until 7am. The alternatives you have are :

The Highway A13 towards Normandie: the St Cloud tunnel is closed for work in the Normandie direction. Use Waze ! You can join the A13 highway via the Roquencourt triangle (the A12/A13 highway exchange) or the A86 tunnel.

IMPORTANT : The registrations, the opening ceremony and all sessions of the 14th HGW Workshop will be held at the University of Caen Normandie due to renovation work being done on the Chateau. We are sorry for this last minute change and thank you for your understanding.

Final Program

Registration : Sunday May 12th, 2024 from 3:00-4:30 pm at the University of CaenNormandie  (Campus 1, Building P, Pierre Daure lecture hall).

Sunday, May 12th, 2024:

  • Registration: 3:00-4:30 pm at the University of Caen Normandie.
  • Opening ceremony: 4:30-6:00 pm
  • Welcome cocktail: 6:00-8:00 pm

Monday, May 13th, 2024: communication, conferences and poster sessions.

Tuesday May 14th, 2024: communication, conferences and poster sessions

Wednesday, May 15th, 2024: morning communications, conferences, lunch and departure.

  • Departure from the workshop after lunch at 1:30 pm

IMPORTANT : for those travelling from Paris on Sunday, make your train reservation early. Be careful since on Sundays there are fewer and slower trains than during the week.
